Growth equity firm Apax Digital led the investment, with strategic backing from enterprise security firm SentinelOne and Samsung Electronics. The syndicate also drew participation from a broad cohort of existing venture investors, including CRV, Highland Europe, Norwest, NFX, Grove Ventures, Resolute Ventures, Vintage Investments, and Claltech.
Originally launched as ActiveFence, the company recently rebranded to Alice as part of a broader push beyond traditional digital safety and platform moderation. Under chief executive Noam Schwartz - who co-founded the venture alongside Alon Porat, Eyal Dykan, and Iftach Orr - the firm is focusing its resources on defending frontier artificial intelligence architectures from jailbreaks, data poisoning, and unpredictable runtime behaviors.
According to Schwartz, the fresh influx of capital will directly fund the engineering required to monitor and safeguard enterprise-deployed generative models, where demand for real-time safety guardrails has spiked alongside commercial adoption.
The Strategic Shift to Model Defense
Alice's strategic evolution underscores a broader transformation across the enterprise security landscape. As corporate deployments shift from experimental chatbots to autonomous, tool-calling agents with deep access to sensitive corporate data, the attack surface has expanded substantially.
For enterprise buyers, preventing data leakage, prompt injection attacks, and toxic outputs has rapidly evolved from a public-relations concern into an existential operational risk.
