The Scale ReportGudea is positioning itself as a tactical intelligence layer for corporate reputation, using artificial intelligence to identify how damaging narratives and rumors evolve across the digital landscape. Rather than relying on standard social listening tools that merely count mentions or hashtags, the platform maps the behavioral patterns and specific pathways through which information travels across more than 500 platforms, including X, Reddit, and TikTok.
The startup showcased its technology on the Startup Battlefield stage at TechCrunch Disrupt 2026. Keith Presley, the chief executive and founder, argues that most communications teams are currently blinded by legacy software that fails to capture the velocity or origin of a story. The Scale Report understands that by focusing on the actors and networks driving a conversation, Gudea aims to give decision-makers a clearer view of whether a situation requires immediate intervention or should be ignored.
Founded in 2023 by Keith Presley, Jonathan Sperber, and James Thomin, the company has roots in the George Washington Initiative. This nonprofit originally applied foreign intelligence tactics to domestic information campaigns to disrupt adversarial networks. The founders pivoted to the commercial sector after realizing that existing software could not visualize the movement of information across various social ecosystems.
This technology is becoming increasingly critical as generative AI lowers the barrier to entry for coordinated online campaigns. According to Keith Presley, the frequency of inauthentic activity identified during their analysis has risen from 25 percent in 2021 to approximately 90 percent today. The company currently serves about 40 clients, ranging from government agencies and global bands to major AI labs and Fortune 50 retailers.
Looking ahead, Gudea plans to introduce granular geolocation features next year that will allow users to track the source of narratives down to the city-block level. The firm also intends to let customers use its AI models as a sandbox to stress-test marketing campaigns before they go live. This product roadmap is supported by a recent $7 million seed round co-led by Mudita Venture Partners and Silicon Road Ventures, bringing the startup total funding to roughly $15 million.
