Pasqal Debuts on Nasdaq Following $360 Million SPAC MergerThe Scale Report

Pasqal Holding SA has finalized its merger with blank-check firm Bleichroeder Acquisition Corp. II, clearing the path for the quantum hardware developer to list on the Nasdaq exchange. The combined entity is slated to begin trading under the ticker symbol PSQL on August 28, 2026.

The transaction delivers approximately $360 million in gross proceeds to the dual-headquartered Paris and New York company. Cohen & Company Capital Markets acted as the lead bookrunner for the business combination.

Pasqal specializes in neutral-atom quantum computing, an architecture that uses optical tweezers and lasers to manipulate individual atoms into computational arrays. The firm counts Nobel Prize-winning physicist Alain Aspect among its co-founders, leaning on his foundational research in quantum entanglement to steer its technical strategy.

According to chief executive officer Wasiq Bokhari, the public listing establishes a stronger operational foundation to serve commercial clients worldwide. Management plans to direct the incoming capital toward scaling its quantum processor deployments, growing its cloud software infrastructure, and funding research into error-corrected, fault-tolerant machines.

Commercialization Pressures in Quantum

The transaction places Pasqal among a select group of publicly traded pure-play quantum computing firms. Hardware developers in the sector face exceptionally capital-intensive engineering roadmaps, requiring years of sustained investment before quantum processors can reliably outperform classical supercomputers on enterprise workloads.

While previous quantum SPAC listings have encountered rocky post-merger market conditions, neutral-atom platforms are gaining traction as a viable alternative to superconducting circuits and trapped-ion systems. With $360 million in fresh liquidity, Pasqal will now have to demonstrate to public market investors that its hardware roadmap can translate into durable commercial contracts.
