The Scale ReportPorsche is accelerating its digital modernization through a €1.25 billion artificial intelligence initiative over the next five years, anchoring the transition to an expansive partnership with Tata Consultancy Services.
As part of the structural realignment, the German luxury automaker is selling its IT and management consulting subsidiary, MHP, to TCS for €320 million. The divestiture will transfer MHP’s workforce of roughly 4,500 specialists into the Indian IT services giant's global footprint.
Under the five-year agreement, TCS will deploy AI solutions across several core domains within Porsche, covering vehicle engineering, factory manufacturing, internal business operations, and customer experience interfaces.
The two companies also plan to launch a dedicated AI Mobility Centre of Excellence. The unit will focus on building out automated engineering workflows, predictive manufacturing systems, and intelligent digital platforms for next-generation mobility.
The tie-up highlights how traditional European manufacturers are increasingly relying on external system integrators to execute complex software overhauls. Rather than building massive in-house software units—a strategy that has yielded mixed outcomes across the German automotive industry—Porsche is opting to monetize non-core advisory assets while contracting specialized enterprise muscle to manage its computational shift.
