Shield Capital led the investment round, joined by Alumni Ventures, BBK Capital, Qudit, and several other venture partners. Based in Santa Clara, California, SiFly is developing electric vertical takeoff and multirotor hardware designed to stay airborne longer than conventional commercial drones.
The capital infusion is earmarked for scaling the manufacturing lines of the company's flagship Q12 electric multirotor aircraft. In addition to expanding its domestic supply chain and initiating initial customer shipments, SiFly plans to accelerate real-world testing of its proprietary DronePort automated base stations.
Under the leadership of founder and CEO Brian Hinman, SiFly is positioning its hardware for persistent aerial monitoring across three primary enterprise verticals: public safety operations, critical infrastructure inspection, and precision agricultural surveying. Its DronePort infrastructure acts as an autonomous launch, recovery, and recharging hub to maintain continuous coverage over target areas without direct on-site piloting.
The Dual-Use Aerial Infrastructure Shift
The funding underscores sustained investor appetite for domestic drone manufacturers capable of delivering autonomous, persistent coverage. As regulatory and national security pressures prompt enterprise and government operators to phase out foreign-manufactured aerial hardware, venture firms are directing capital into American-made platforms with automated ground infrastructure that minimize labor overhead and operational downtime.
