## The Strategic Rationale for Acquisition
Shishir Mehrotra, chief executive of Superhuman, noted that internal attempts to develop a native notetaker highlighted the technical complexity of the field. After testing prototypes earlier this year, the company determined that acquiring an established player was the most viable path. The deal follows a period where independent meeting tools like Granola, Read AI, and Wispr have faced mounting pressure to expand their utility beyond simple transcription.
